What’s the quality of Target’s clothes?

I don’t mind spending money on clothes when they last. However being in my twenties, I’m on a pretty tight budget and I’m in the market for some new additions to my wardrobe. I’m writing this at a hamburger shop. There are a few customers in it since it is before lunchtime. The interior design with some light colors shows that the shop is for children. I’m going to my head office to have the regular management meeting after eating a hamburger. I’m feeling down since today is the first after five straight holidays and I have to work this Saturday. The noisy songs for children in the shop still strengthen that.
Exactly, I like cheese so much, but I don’t like to watch TV so much. And fortunately or not, I don’t have any brothers, but my dog is in my room right now.

What do you think of this design and furniture for my small room?

I am redecorating my room and it is really small (9′ by 9′). I was thinking 2 hot pink and 2 light/medium orange walls, and then brown accents (curtains, carpet etc.).

Painting my old furniture?

k i have this wardrobe that i had before i painted my room and its light brown i my room it a different shade of brown and all my new furniture in my room id basically a dark brown to black color.
i wanted to paint but not sure what to use because its compressed wood with wood designed paper on it its a really sturdy wardrobe though i wanted to turn it into some random shelf or book shelf just so i don’t waste it. would sand paper work to adhere the paint onto the wardrobe and i want it to be shiny so what is a good paint to use i was thinking latex acrylic paint would that work?? and i was wondering because it a really dark color would i need primer for it? and finally do i need it to cure once I’m done for like a week or so i just let it to dry for 48 hours and then just use it.

i was told to do this in a well ventilated area and i was wondering if i can do it in my dads garage would dust adhere onto the paint and would it rune the whole wardrobe.

Can some one help. Will a black TV stand go with a ..?

MY room is mostly cream with a choclate brown feature wall.The furniture (wardrobe, chest of draws etc) is beech/pine wood.

Ive just bought a 46inch TV and need a new tv stand (one with a mount bracket attached) I cant get a wall mount as the walls are very weak. The Fitter we paid to come out and fit it up refused to do it flatout.

However the only ones i can find are ones that are either Jet black plastic/metal or glass and silver. My PC desk is glass and silver poles, while it doesnt really go with the room it doesnt stand out like a saw thumb.

Im not that great at being able to tell what goes with what, so i dont really fancy paying out £150+ and finding out it clashs with the whole room.

How to blend 3 different coloured wood furniture?

I’m 14 and I love watching those home design shows and hoping to get into that business when I’m older. In my room I have mismatched wood furniture, these are:

TV unit is a white cheap looking wood
Wardrobe and Bed are a sort of mahogany wood
Desk and Bookshelf/Display Shelf are the cheap ‘chipwood ‘ sort of wood that you would find at a 2 dollar shop.

How can I combine these types of woods to make my room look better? I was considering painting all of the wood furniture a white (since I love white furniture) but I don’t think it’ll happen..

Re-designing my room…?

Okay, right now my 11 by 12 room is nothing but an art desk from like the 70s thats falling appart, a wardrobe from walmart, and a “captains bed” or a bed that has drawers under it along with the matching nightstand. New Home Furnishings & Storage?

I will be buying my first new home in UK. This is a 3 bedroom townhouse and totally empty.
As I do not own any furniture, I will be needing to buy lots of storage and refurbish this house with wardrobes, cabinets, drawers, bookshelves, tables etc.
As buying the house itself has incurred quite a lot of costs, I am trying to look at low costs for buying all furniture, yet want to keep this is good quality – long lasting furniture.
I would ideally like someone to measure, deliver and fit all storage in my house. I have looked at furnitures in IKEA & Argos but I would have to do the measuring, which I am not confident about, nor am capable to fit this on my own.
I tried going to websites such as www.strachan.co.uk and www.sliderobes.com which provide service for designing, measuring and installing but neither their website / nor brochures indicate any price. I don’t have possession of the house as yet to invite a survey and I will have to budget now on how much to spend on. I have also tried looking at charity shops but they do not come co-ordinated sets.
Please can you advise where should I start looking to meet my requirements?

How should I arrange my bedroom?

My bedroom is very small.Its about 4×3.5m. It gets very crowded because I have a 1.25m desk, a single bed, a vanity table with drawers all the way down and is just over 1m, a book shelf which is about 1metre wide and 0.75 metres high, and a green beanbag. When you walk into my room, the wall to your left, which is about 3.5m long (starting from left to right) has my vanity table a 20cm gab, then my wardrobe which is built into my wall but you can’t walk into it.there is only just enough space to open my bedroom door because the doors are so badly spaced. The wall opposite you has a full length mirror, a 2metre window with floor length curtains, the desk that goes from 1/4 of the way past the wondow to about 30cm from the wall.the wall to the right when you walk in has a bedside table, my bed(goes into the middle of the room) and my beanbag in the corner. The wall behind you when you walk in has the beanbag in the corner, my bookshelf, a washing basket and the door you just walked in through.
sorry if the description was a bit confusing, but I need another way to arrange my furniture so it maximizes the space I have. I have tried the bed against the wall, out from the wall and pretty much everywhere because I find my room so cramped and small. Avoid ornate designs for cupboards and other furniture in your bedroom.

Stick to simple, modern designs. These look better in the long run.

Using a laminate on the furniture is a good option in the bedroom.

There are some great designs and colours available in laminates nowadays.

Why use laminates?

~They offer a clean finish.

Bedroom Design?

Hey. I will shortly be having the walls of my bedroom repainted, and will also be having the floor changed.

Brown is going to be an unavoidable colour, as most of the furnishing, aswell as the cupboards, are all brown. The frame of my bed is a shiny black, with small hints of white in the bedhead.

My room is pretty small, so i dont want a colour scheme that is going to make it feel even smaller.

Im 16 years old and my room is a MESS! Its plain and boring and i need help to “funk it up” . My bedroom is bery small and i have a double bed with a dressing table and cupboard. Firstly,I have my bedroom. My old cupboards have been changed into sleek sliding doors with a mirror right at the end. My wallpaper is normal its this cream patterned design and needs nothing doing to it. Hello, I have a medium sized room with a single bed, one corner study table an in-built cupboard and a large chest of drawers. My room has always been over cluttered with make-up, magazines, school books, jewellery, etc. My room walls are a plain creme colour and my chest of drawers are also a plain white colour. I have always wanted to create a cool, modern yet funky room but never know what colours and what decorations I should use. ive had a very hard life, i have bpd and ptsd , missed out on normel life opportunities people do – never built any relationships , never been employed, never got qualifications , never even lived a life or anything.
i have a criminal record going back 8 years ago .

im disadvantaged for a 31 year old i know.

ive lived in a one bedroom apartment for 5 years now , trying to better my situation, better my life , seek help , get psychiatric therapy, work towards my goals which are :

to move away from england, relocate to a hot country , somewhere quiet and coastal, sandy…..wide open space, nice people, with a decent job in IT computers.

that is basically my goal, ive been in some terriblesituations in the past , in a mental hospital, been homeless , in jail, suffered a street attack , head injuries with a baseball bat because i lost control of rage. suffered bullying , psychological torture , mind games.

thats just a brief summary.

im working hard on myself now, but still struggling to get help from the psychiatric services , still struggle with all the symptoms of ptsd and borderline personality including rage feelings..

waiting for an operation on my ankle to fix the ligaments because i tore the ligaments in a sprain a year ago.

i get down alot though the fact i dont own much material possessions , this ever bother you ?

im on disability, dont have carpets on my apartment floor , dont own many material possessions except a computer and internet….a landline phone.

dont have a cell phone , have no shower , except a crummy bath , an old playstation 2.

a kettle in my kitchen, a microwave , an old fridge , an even older oven , old bad design apartment cupboards with my stored food.

an ok bed , and thats it.

Kay… it’s like this. I’m a M’sian and I LUV luv luv luv LUV animation (2D & 3D)! I absolutely adore it! It’s my passion and it’s what I want to pursue in the future. My dream… like many other aspiring animators is to work in Pixar and Disney…. But of course I’m taking it one step at a time.
So now… I’m preparing to go to college and I know what I want to take right? But the problem is that some of my relatives think that animation is not a suitable course because it doesn’t make that much money…. and that animation is for school dropouts who have not much option left. They want me to take a broader subject like computer science, I.T., nursing, or multimedia cuz I will have more job opportunities and be safer money-wise.
I know it’s totally ridiculous(though I didn’t tell them that, of course)… cause animators DO make good money and it’s not some trivial-last-resort kind of job either….. it’s hard work.
Besides…. I’m not doing it for the money, I’m doing it because I LUV it… But they mean well, and I’m grateful for them.
However, they did make one good point… that is M’sia does not have much job opportunities for animators as other countries such as Korea, and the U.S… M’sia is just beginning to discover the potential of animation. It will take years before they become (if they becum) an ‘animation hub of the world.’ So if I become an animator here after graduating I might just end up designing or animating web pages for various companies. If I want to find real work I have to go overseas which my parents can’t afford. So I guess my question should be, “Can a Malaysian make a living being an animator in his own country?”
I don’t want to end up having to do some small job… I want to create characters, I want to put colors into new ideas, I want to make my stories come to life and share them with everyone! But I can’t just follow my dreams and not get a single cent… because I have to help my other siblings fulfill their ambition too.

Are my relatives right? Should I take a broader course just to be safe or should I put all my effort and passion into specializing in animation? Are there any M’sian animators reading this? HOW MUCH ARE YOU EARNING? Give me some proof that I can show my relatives that I can make a living being an animator in my own country. Help me pls.

If I have no choice but to go overseas, Singapore is my best option. I heard that they have a universal studio over there. How much would I make in Singapore then? anyone?

Blank room design idea?

Brand new home – Front room (which is supposed to be a formal dining room, but we don’t need one) is empty and I cant figure out what to use it as. Since you see it as soon as you enter the house, I thought I’d use it as a receiving room for guests with a sofa, 2 chairs, coffee table and 2 book cases.
I toyed with the idea of making it a playroom for my 3yo but then it will always be chaotic!
We thought about making it into a library with our computer there, but we don’t have the cable outlet.

Any ideas on what else would be a good use for this space?

Anyone on here that can help with renovation ideas?

We would like to add a second level onto our home as our family grows, but aren’t sure if that is feasible. It is right around 1000 square feet on a block and beam foundation. I don’t know how to describe the design other than it is a circular floor plan from the late 40′s or early 50′s By that I mean you walk into the living room, turn right into a hallway, down the hall, left into the kitchen, through that into the dining room, take a left from there back into the living room. Off the hallway is two bedrooms and one bath. There are windows near the outside corner of each room and I know we would need to get the whole place leveled before and renovations begin.
Additional questions:
Would we need an architect or structural engineer to draw up plans?
Anyone know what style of architecture our house is? (possibly mid-century modern, but not quite sure)
Would it be weird to put the staircase in one of the first floor bedrooms, have no door, open the ceiling up to the second floor and call it a library?
Have you ever done any major renovation like this?
Do you have any books about architecture, design or remodeling that you would like to recommend?

How to gain more clients for graphic design?

I am a graphic designer in central MS I have gotten my BA and I have been out of school for almost three years now. I could not find a job in my field nor can I get a job doing anything else. So, I decided to start my own company and go back to school for web design. Since every job that was looking for a GD was looking for someone with a WD background as well. I am having to pay my way through school now and at this moment I ran out of money to continue. I am wondering how in the world can I find clients that needs a graphic artists? I have a web site and I have fan pages up on Facebook and still no luck. I even put something on Craigslist all I got back from there was junk mail. I place my flyers in the libraries around the city. I have even branched into the photography part to make some money but its the same way when I do that. Things are becoming very hard to pay on the home-front and its not a pretty picture. Please help? With any ideas on more free marketing ways yes I know the good marketing cost but I have no job. Anything please help me?

What to buy for my spare time?

I don’t mean to sound like a spoiled brat. But, I “need” or “want” to buy something. I’m definitely not spoiled. I buy something every once in a while when its necessary, like clothes or a bike when mine breaks down. I’m back in school and so I don’t spend the whole day on the internet, however I find myself having nothing to do in my spare time in the internet very often. I know that I should study and do my homework, and I do, but there’s weekends or Fridays where I’m just home watching TV. That’s why I’ve decided to buy myself a little something.
I don’t want to spend more than $50. I was thinking of buying a headset for my computer for my Youtube channel, but that’s not gonna occupy all my time. Perhaps I’ll buy a few books or rent some from my school library. Maybe something else. Any ideas? I’m a guy and I like technology and different hobbies such as web design.
I don’t want video games as I don’t play games often.
Maybe a cheap SLR film camera? I like photography.
It doesn’t HAVE to be under $50. I could possibly raise the budget as I could save up some money.
I’m already learning HTML from a site. Taking my time with it. Already have GIMP and am pretty good or decent at it.

Help building / designing dream house?

I want to build a three story “castle” like house, but on a modern home scale. I am planning on having about 4 acres of land to build on so a decent sized house. I already have my rough draft of my first floor, floor plan drawn out.

I will take any ideas for room sizes, room locations, etc. I want the third story to have an observatory area extending through the roof, along with my master bedroom. The master bedroom will also have a balcony extending outside facing the front and rear of the estate. The second story is mainly guest beds and bathrooms, and such. The first floor will have a large kitchen, decent sized den a foot lower than the rest of first floor level, a library and a foyer. A decent sized basement for storage and laundry. Each corner of the house will have a hexagonal style tower design to bring out more of the castle like feel. This will also add a bit more room and aura for the dining room, library and guest rooms. I still plan on putting about another year or two into the basic plans before I start with the other things., and I am sure things will change.

I do plan on using stone, adding a pond, having a circular driveway with an extended entrance driveway lined with trees (not sure on the trees, landscaping will come last). Maybe some stained glass here and there.

As far as design programs, should I use AutoCAD? I am sure once I get my floor plans done, an actual architect will want to rearrange them a lot, but I want to get the basic design to my vision before he/she modifies it.

I will take any opinions/ideas generously.

is this a great essay???

Thomas Jefferon was a young man that was the son of a weathly farmer. He shared the love of books with his father. As Jefferson was growing up in school, he was painfully shy about speaking up. Espically when the children taunted him. Unlike other students, Jefferson was in college by the age of sixteen. He also began law school two years later. Not only was he a execllent student but he also played the violin and designed Monticello. Monticello was his beatiuful home that he lived in. A few years later, he also lived with a widow he married and his family. His wife’s name was Martha Wayles. Thomas Jefferson went through alot of deep pain. He had six children die. He also tried so hard to change America. His mind would always come up with different ideas to change the world. After all the pain he went through, he still was after his dream. Nothing put him down or make him change his mind. Jefferson was a great leader as a president . There was a time where Jefferson was short on money. He had to sell his library and the books. As Jefferson found out he was close to death in the end of June 1826, he still was determined to live until July 4th. Jeffferson did die on the fourth of July. Thomas Jefferson was a great guy that inspired many people. People today look up at him as a hero. He did save many lives and is thanked everyday.

I believe what i read was a great book. It taught me many facts about Thomas Jefferson . It also showed me that Jefferson would always get up on his feet everytime he fell. He never gave up. What I liked about the book was that it was very understanding. The illiustrations by Micheal Dooling made me understand this book too. The pictures were well drawn. It made it look more realistic and as if i was there. This story was also based on history. There was many facts about slavery and wars. I think this book is a excellent book for learning about Jefferson.

Grade Level: 4th-5th grade

I agree that this book could be used in a History classrrom. A teacher can read it to the class. It will teach them all the important things they need to know. It will also be great if the students get to illistrate pictures and write short summaries about an important part to them. They could also write how Thomas Jeffferson inspired them and how he changed the world. These are some suggestions that could be used.

how are these 3 different openings of the same story?

1)There is a section of my house that is framed-by a wooden frame. It is neither ornately carved or of a unique design, but the ebony wood was striking against the pale crème walls.
The frame is not big; it is only three feet tall and one foot wide.
My friends would reach their fingers out, tentatively, looking around all the while, to touch what the frame holds. On their faces would be a sort of frustrated curiosity.
When they met no glass, their hands would lurch forward, like when one trips while walking down a staircase, when their feet do not find another stair but smooth pavement. They must have expected whatever enticed them, to be protected.
On a slightly yellowed piece of paper, that makes one think of antique, are two hands traced in pencil. One is slightly larger than the other, and the lines are strangely wobbly as if drawn by a child just learning to hold a pencil.

2) It was a windy day, and when people ventured outside with their umbrellas, they were deterred as gusts of wind would flip their umbrellas inside out, and raise their coats almost vertically in the air which would whip in the air with a sharp, Crack!.
Taxi drivers looked at their cabs with fearful eyes; they could already see that today was a day when driving would be a menace, not a necessity; the chance of totaling their car didn’t seem quite as low as yesterday. The road looked like a long black slippery snake, slick as ice and the clay used to fill potholes and dirt from gardens would travel to down slopes to the middle of the street.
But the air smelled sweet, like freshly cut grass; it was a crisp, faint scent. It made one want to inhale deeply, as if to store this fragrance inside to keep. And then, you remember that even wonderful illusions, short moments, like these have to end, and after it is over, its memory leaves a painful, sweet taste in your mouth, reminding you that it didn’t change anything.

3)The summer Marlowe volunteered at the Larson General Hospital, was when she had been thirteen for a few months. Her school required all eighth graders to volunteer at the library, hospital, or act as a tutor so that when they leave high school and allowed to get work permits, they would have an idea what to expect.
Marlowe’s home was only a few blocks away from the hospital; a ten or fifteen minutes would be a sufficient time for her to leave the house and arrive at the hospital.
Many of her friends, had volunteered at the hospital because it seemed to be the easiest job to do. In their minds, they were wearing crisp white uniforms and delivered flowers to patient rooms and organized magazines. This seemed favorable to teaching quadratic equations and learning the Dewey Decimal System, which was inevitable as a tutor or a library assistant.
So, when she finally signed her name on the volunteer slips, and filled in the box labeled Hospital, most of the spots were filled. And when Marlowe went to the Larson General Hospital, or the LGH as the volunteers called it, there was only one spot left, and that was..,Companion.
A companion was a person that stayed with some of the more lonely patients, and talked to them. Usually no one would want to be a companion, because they usually did not volunteer to help, but because they had to.

Will a white macbook run super slow if I put these programs in it?

I’m going to be getting a white macbook within the week. It will be upgraded to 4gb of ram and a 500gb hard drive. I’d like to use it for some home recording and graphic designing/photo editing as well as every day use. (Please don’t tell me about how I should go with a macbook pro, I can’t stand that aluminum body).

For the sake of the question let’s say my music library would consist of give or take 20,000 songs (it doesn’t of course, I’m just trying to give a worst case scenario).

With a large music library, will installing the following programs into my macbook (including the programs the macbook already comes with) make it run terribly slow?

iWork
Logic Express 9 (It’s offered preinstalled, is it worth it?)
Pro Tools LE (I want to start playing around with it before I take my recording classes in a year or two for it)
Photoshop CS5
and quite possibly the Sims 3 (if I decide to get it for mac)

Would it be a bad idea to install all of this software?
Should I choose between Logic Express 9 OR Pro Tools LE?
Should I completely dismiss the idea of trying to play any games on my mac? (I’m not a big gamer or anything. I have a PC now and I tend to play the sims 2 very seldomly (but my pc only has 1gb of ram so playing it is a horror).
Would you recommend only one or two of those programs?

I just don’t want to get this awesome new computer and ruin it by making it run so slow due to all of my multi-tasking. I’m expanding it to 4gb of ram because of the awful experience I’ve had with my 1gb ram pc. (I’m also thinking of wiping my pc and using it as a storage unit for all of the graphic designs/photos that I have completed-in order to not take up unnecessary space on my mac).

Sorry this is so long. If worse comes to worse, I would eventually just get a macbook pro and keep it strictly for recording, but that won’t be until I complete pro tools classes and get a certificate so that I know how to use it professionally. I just would really love to be able to put all of these programs on it.

I am looking at HSBC which is the world’s largest bank, with branches all over the globe, can you deposit money in one country and withdraw in another, and use your debit card in a third? Can you provide, if possible, information about international banking: do such transaction even exist – of course for free or minimal charge?

How long does a payment take to clear in regards to HSBC banking?

Im getting a little bit concerned, my ex boss has now received my correct bank details and has emailed to say that he has made a payment to me.

This was 40-55 minutes ago, and there is still no payment showing up.

What is going on? How long does it take? Is this a problem lying with HSBC or could it be that my old boss has not made a payment?

I bank with HSBC if that helps- i would of thought every bank has the same time regulations and payments get cleared immediately.
